Plan Reviews & Development
The Fire Prevention Bureau conducts plan reviews in conjunction with a third-party provider, FSCI, of Elgin, Illinois. Please contact the Fire prevention Bureau if you have questions on plan reviews. Plans include the following:
- New building plans
- Remodels & tenant build-outs
- Fire alarm & all suppression system plans
- Kitchen hood and duct systems
- All solar installations, commercial and residential
- Site access, hydrants & fire lanes
Permits
Permits may be required for:
- Fire alarm or sprinkler installation
- Commercial kitchen hood systems
- Special events
- Temporary tents/structures
- Hazardous materials storage
